EPCOT Restaurant Review: Chefs de France

On our most recent trip, Miss H and I went out of our way to try restaurants that we hadn’t tried before. The first one on the list was Chefs de France, in the French Pavilion in Epcot.

We arrived and were promptly greeted by a very polite hostess and were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. The restaurant was clean and bright, with an upscale Parisian atmosphere..Our server was attentive and friendly. Since we were on the dining plan, Miss H and I went big and bold with our orders.

I chose the Beef Bourguignon (pot roast) and she choose the Gratin de Macaroni (macaroni & cheese), they both came with a drink and dessert! To start with, I had a lovely Bordeaux and the French Onion Soup and she had a delicate chocolate milk, all of which was included in our dining plan! The French Onion Soup was rich and beefy with loads of gooey cheese melted on top. As the lunch crowd rolled in, it became busier and louder, but the service never wavered. Our main courses though, left something to be desired: my beef was fatty and the carrots were over done. Miss H’s macaroni tasted like the fuel from the brûlée torch and she ended up eating off of my plate… Dessert was a different story!

Miss H chose the Gateaux au Chocolat and I had the Crème Brûlée. As you can see from the picture above, Miss H LOVED the chocolate cake & chocolate ice cream combination. I also enjoyed the Crème Brûlée but experienced the same butane taste that we had noticed on her macaroni in the main course.

To cut to the chase, the atmosphere at Chefs de France was lovely and the service was amazing, but for our dollar (or dining credits) we would rather spend them at some of the other AMAZING restaurants on the World Showcase.
